Colts Neck: Junior Ethan Michaels became the eighth wrestler in program history with multiple District championships by winning the 113-pound bracket of this year's District 21 Tournament. The Cougars sent seven wrestlers to the podium in all, marking the fifth time in six seasons at least half of their lineup has medaled at the Districts.

2025 Colts Neck Cougars

2024 Record: 17-4 (B-North Champions / District 24 Champions)

Colts Neck is coming off a 17 dual win season (their most since 2017) that saw the Cougars claim their 3rd division title in school history by winning the B-North Title. They took a bit of a hit to graduation, but return a strong cast from last year's team as they prepare to battle in the new C-Division, as well as a new look CJG4 Section.

A good portion of the Cougars returning from last year's starting lineup look to be in the 138-165 range, led by a trio of juniors who all medaled at last year's District 24 Tournament in which the Cougars claimed the program's 2nd ever team title. Brody Kaplan and Matt Anderson each claimed 2nd-place medals the tourney, while Dean Natale earned his 2nd District bronze. They are joined by returning starters Michael Borao and Christian Cleary, both seniors, giving Colts Neck a solid, veteran group in the middle of the lineup.

Down low, junior Ethan Michaels is coming off a terrific sophomore campaign. Michaels advanced to Atlantic City after becoming the program's first ever underclassmen to win a Region Title, and the 8th champion in school history. His 31 wins was tied for 2nd on the team and gives him 57 through his first two seasons. Also back down low are Alex Yale, who has been a regular in the lineup since his freshman season, and sophomore Nico Zecchino, who was 12-3 in his first year.

With the new division format, the Cougars are grouped with Lacey, Wall, Holmdel, and Jackson Liberty in the C-Division, as they try and make it back-to-back division championship seasons. While they've made some appearances in the CJG4 Finals, Colts Neck has never won a Sectional Title. The path to the title in that Section got a little bit smoother for all involved with 2024 Champion, and 18-time overall Sectional Champ, Brick Memorial moving down to CJG3.
