3/6: Velasco's Season Ends In Atlantic City
Junior Greg Velasco went 1-2 in Atlantic City at the NJSIAA Tournament this weekend, finishing two wins short of a state medal. Velasco ends the season with a record of 29-3 and picked up 1st place medals at the Holdel Holiday Tournament. Buc Classic, and District 22 Tournament to go along with his 3rd place medal from the Region 6 Tournament.
2/27: Velasco Takes 3rd At Regions; Advances To Atlantic City
WIth a trip to the NJSIAA Championships on the line, Junior heavyweight Greg Velasco defeated Lacey's Mike Stupiello, 5-3, to earn a 3rd place medal and clinch a spot in this year's NJSIAA Championships at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Velasco becomes the first Keyport wrestler to qualify for the State Tournament since Derek Maldonado in 2005.

2/23: Velasco Wins Title, Corsi Places 3rd @ Districts
Senior Jake Corsi's season came to an end Tuesday night at the opening round of the Region 6 Tournament when he dropped an 11-3 decision to returning medal winner Billy Miller of Brick Memorial.
For the year, Corsi finishes with a record of 22-6 with 9 pins. He won an individual title at the Buc Classic, placed 2nd at the Holmdel Holiday Tournament, and was 3rd at the Districts.
Teammate Greg Velasco will be the lone Raider in action on Friday night for the quarterfinal round of the Region 6 Tournament at the Ritacco Center.

Junior Greg Velasco became Keyport's first District champion since 2005 on Saturday as he pinned his way to the heavyweight crown at the District 22 Tournament. In recognition of his strong performance, Velasco was voted as the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler.
Senior Jake Corsi placed 3rd in the 215-pound weight class and will next compete in Tuesday night's opening round of the Region 6 Tournament.
As a team, the Red Raiders placed 7th, their highest finish since 2006.
