2/28: Stupiello's Season Ends In Wrestleback Semis
Junior Mike Stupiello's season came to an end on Saturday in the semifinal round of the wrestlebacks at the Region 6 Tournament. Stupiello opened up his day with a 5-3 win in the wrestleback quarterfinals over Liberty's Brendan Kahle. He was defeated in his next match by Ocean's Ricky Lyster, 4-3, falling just one win short of a Region medal and two wins shy of a trip to Atlantic City.
Stupiello finished the season with a team high 33 wins.

Senior Chris Trout and junior Mike Stupielloe were each victorious in their 3rd place matches on Saturday's District 24 Championships and will now move on to compete in the 2009 Region 6 Wrestling Tournament at the Ritacco Center.
Trout, who defeated Toms River East's Johnny Resto to advance, is scheduled to face Middletown South freshman Nick Herring on Tuesday night's opening round at the Ritacco. Stupiello, a winner by fall over Steve Sprague in their 3rd place match, is paired up with Jacob Conover of Howell
