Shore: After a two year drought, the Blue Devils got back to the top of the District podium as sophomore Cole Torres won the 175-pound championship at this year's District 23 Tournament. Torres is Shore's first underclassmen to win a District title since Jack Maida and Michael McGhee won their first of two District championships in 2019. Junior Trevor Doremus came in 3rd-place at 113, giving Shore Regional multiple medalists at the Districts for the 12th straight year.

2025 Shore Regional Blue Devils

2024 Record: 10-15

The Blue Devils will be a young team in 2025, and will be a little short on the depth side of things. Still, they have some talented starters returning, and some promising newcomers they are looking to develop, and the team will be working to build things back up, while looking for wins against similar programs.

Just a pair of senior starters return in Dom Calabria and Dom Sciarappa. Calabria was one of the more improved wrestlers in the Shore last season, going from 1-14 in 2023, to winning 24 matches last season. Calabria anchors the lower half of the lineup along with junior Trevor Doremus. Doremus enters his third season in the starting lineup for the Blue Devils. He has won 41 matches through his first two years, and was a District medal winner as a freshman, and placed 4th last year. Juniors Ray Brown and Tyler Junior will look to step up in full time roles this year after getting some quality experience in during their first two seasons. Otherwise, it's going to be a pretty inexperienced group from 106-150, and will feature several freshmen looking to contribute. Among them is Chris Gifford, who enters the high school level after a pretty strong run at the youth level.

Shore is a little more experienced in the upper half with Sciarappa providing the senior leadership. A 4-year starter, Sciarappa placed 4th at Districts last season. He's joined by sophomore Cole Torres, who is coming a terrific freshman season that saw him win 29 bouts on his way to a trip to the Regions after he placed 3rd at Districts. Fellow sophomore Anthony DiSanto is another returning starter and will be looking to build off last year's experience in the lineup.

The numbers are a little lighter than what is normal for the Blue Devils and as result there will be times that they won't be able to fill the 14 slots, putting themselves in a hole with forfeits. Despite their size, this is a team that has put together winning seasons in 11 of the past 12 seasons. While they may take some lumps against larger programs, they expect to compete with the teams in a similar situation to them this year.
