3/7: Casaletto Finishes 2nd In Atlantic City
Junior Kyle Casaletto was just seconds away from winning the 112-pound State Title, but a reversal in the closing seconds by Nick Francavilla gave the High Point junior his 2nd State title and gave Casaletto the runner-up position. For Casaletto, it is his 2nd State medal and brings an end to an outstanding season that saw him finish with a record of 29-3. In addition to his 2nd-place medal in AC, he won championships at the Region 6, District 24, and Mustang Classic tournaments.
Casaletto will enter the 2010-2011 season with a career record of 84-14.
Teammates Bubba Lanno and Mike Case came up short in their bids to join Casaletto on the Boardwalk Hall podium. Lanno finished 2-2 on the weekend, winding up just one win shy of earning a medal, while Case was eliminated in the opening round by Francisco Yanis of North Bergen.

Junior Kyle Casaletto pinned Jackson Memorial's Mike Shupin at 2:13 to claim the 112-pound championship at this year's Region 6 Tournament. With the win, Casaletto now receives an opening round bye into the pre-quarterfinals of the NJSIAA Championships in Atlantic City. For Casaletto, it is his 2nd Region Title and he will be making his 2nd trip to Boardwalk Hall where he placed 8th last season at 103.
Joining Casaletto in AC will be teammates Bubba Lanno and Mike Case who both finished in 2nd place in their respective weight classes.

Senior Mike Case and juniors Kyle Casaletto and Jeff McElwee won individual titles, and senior Rich Tieto and juniors Bubba Lanno and Anthony Messler finished in 2nd as Southern Regional advanced six wrestlers in all to the Region 6 Tournament.
Casaletto, McElwee, and Case now receive byes in to Friday night's Region quarterfinals, while Lanno, Tieto, and Messler will be on the mats on Tuesday night for the opening round of action at the Ritacco Center.
