3/4: NJSIAA STATE TOURNAMENT
Southern (1 Champion / 6 Medal Winners)
Junior Matt Henrich won the Rams' first State Title in 14 seasons, Riley O'Boyle placed 2nd, Conor Collins won his 3rd medal, Cole Velardi claimed his 2nd, and Wyatt Stout and Hayden Hochstrasser won their firsts, as the Rams matched a Shore Conference record with 6 State medal winners in a single season, shared by Long Branch in 2009 and Ocean Township in 2007.

Henrich, who won each of his quarter and semifinal bouts by a point, defeated St Augustine Prep's Brady Conlin, 3-1, to become the Rams' first State Champion since Glenn Carson in 2009, and their 7th overall, which is 4th most all-time in the Shore Conference. It is the 2nd medal for Henrich, who also placed 7th last season.

O'Boyle capped his career with a 2nd place finish at 215, dropping a 3-2 decision in the ultimate tiebreaker to Rumson's Hudson Skove. He is Southern's 13th State runner-up in program history. O'Boyle will wrestle at Millersville next season

Conor Collins also wrapped up his run with the Rams this weekend, earning his 3rd State medal with a 4th-place finish at 126. Collins departs the Rams with 3rd most wins in a Southern singlet, with 128, and will enroll at West Point this fall.

Another senior, Cole Velardi, also finished up with the Rams on Saturday. Velardi took 8th-place for his 2nd State medal. He leaves the Rams having won 112 bouts, and a pair of Region Titles, as well as a pair of District Titles, to go along with his 2 State medals. He will continue his career at Keiser next year.

Sophomores Wyatt Stout and Hayden Hochstrasser captured their first State medals for Southern, with Stout placing 6th at 132, while Hochstrasser finished 8th at 144, to complete the Rams' tally of 6 medals. Those 6 medals give the Rams 55 in total, the 3rd most in the Shore Conference behind only Brick Memorial and Jackson Memorial.

Southern (7 Champions / 12 Medal Winners)
Wyatt Stout, Matt Henrich, and Cole Velardi won their 2nd Region Titles, and seven Rams in all took 1st, as Southern sent 12 wrestlers in all to the podium on another big day for the Rams at Regions. The seven champions is a new program record, and puts the total at 61 titles all-time, which trails only Brick Memorial's 72 for the highest amount in the Shore Conference. The 12 medal winners for Southern, including 4-timers Velardi and Conor Collins, and 3-timers Henrich and O'Boyle, is a new program record, as well.

With a Shore Conference record 11 Champions, the Rams obliterated the field to win their 12th straight Team Title, and 24th overall. The 11 championships gives the Rams 142 in total and moves them into 6th place all-time in the Shore Conference.
